On August 28, 2026, my Adobe Stock contributor dashboard stopped opening. About eight weeks later, after I used Adobe's official channels, the account was reviewed and reopened. This is the path I followed, written so you can follow a similar one if it happens to you.
What you need to know in 10 seconds
- What happened: my contributor account was deactivated for "suspicious activity"
- What Adobe gave me: no specific reason, file names or dates
- What I used: the contributor Contact Us form, a reply on the same case, and Adobe's official appeals form
- Result: after about eight weeks, the account was reviewed and reopened
- Keep in mind: this is one person's experience, not a guarantee
1. What I Saw When It Was Blocked
Every page of my contributor dashboard showed only a short notice saying the account was de-activated and asking me to check my email or contact Adobe.
The email from Adobe was titled "Account blocked: Suspicious activity". It sent me to the submission guidelines but gave no specific reason.
The guidelines list several kinds of problems, such as fraudulent activity (anything that artificially increases sales or rankings), multiple accounts, and payment or identity mismatches. I could not tell which one applied to me, so I asked Adobe directly.
2. Which Channel to Use
Contributor Contact Us form
Adobe's official channel for contributor problems. I chose the category Account and the subcategory Other. It gave me a case number.
Reply on the case email
Replying to the case email keeps your message attached to the same case. I always wrote the case number in the subject line.
Official appeals form
Adobe has an official form to appeal an account deactivation. It is described on Adobe's page about how to report and appeal. I used it once.
Be patient
The first reply was only an automatic acknowledgment. That is normal and not a decision.
Use the right inbox
In my case, replying to a closed appeal email got an automatic message saying that mailbox is not monitored and asking me to open a new case through the Contact Us form. Other general support mailboxes sent automatic replies that they did not handle this type of request. For anything new, use the Contact Us form.
3. My First Message
I sent this through the Contact Us form, with my details removed. Replace the parts in square brackets.
Message to copy: first request
Hello, I am writing about my Adobe Stock contributor account, which has been de-activated for "suspicious activity." I saw the notice by email and on my dashboard, but no specific reason was given. I have been an active contributor for more than three years. Please help me with: 1) the specific reason for the deactivation, 2) whether this decision can be reviewed, 3) which documents I can provide to verify my content, such as original source files and metadata, and 4) the steps to reactivate my account if that is possible. I would like to resolve this properly and I am willing to provide any documentation you need. Thank you, [Your name]
4. My Follow-Up and the Appeal
About five weeks later I still had no reply from a person. I did two things, once each.
- Reply on the same case email with a short, polite appeal. I kept the case number in the subject: "Appeal request: Case [your case number]"
- State the facts: how long I had been a contributor, that I had received no warning, and that I wanted a person to review the account
- Ask for three things: the specific reason, whether the decision can be reversed, and which documents Adobe needs
- Submit Adobe's official appeals form once. I chose the option for an account deactivated because of a policy violation, because it is the one that covers a whole account. This does not mean you admit a violation
- Save everything: I took a screenshot of the confirmation page and kept every email, including the ones in my spam folder
Message to copy: appeal on the case email
Hello Contributor Relations team, I am writing about case [your case number], opened on [date], about the deactivation of my Adobe Stock contributor account for "suspicious activity." I would like to formally appeal this decision. I have been a contributor for more than three years and I did not receive a warning or a reason before the account was closed. Please have a person review my account and tell me the specific reason, confirm whether the decision can be reversed, and tell me which documents you need. I can provide original source files, camera metadata, timestamps and proof of my shooting dates. I have been waiting more than a month for a reply, so I would appreciate it if you could escalate my case. Thank you, [Your name]
5. Checklist You Can Follow
- Do not open a new account. It can look like an attempt to avoid the block
- Submit a case through the Contact Us form and save the case number
- Ask four clear questions: the reason, whether it can be reviewed, what documents are needed, and how to reactivate
- Offer proof of your work, but only send files when Adobe asks for them
- Wait 5 to 7 days, then send one follow-up on the same case
- Submit the official appeals form once and keep the confirmation
- Keep every message in one folder
- Only escalate after weeks of silence, and stay polite
6. What Happened
About eight weeks after the block, Adobe's appeals team reviewed my request and reopened the account. Adobe explained that the account had been flagged during a review of sales activity. It also reminded me that any activity that artificially increases sales can lead to another block or even to termination.
I do not know which of my messages made the difference, because I used the form, the case email and the appeals form. What I would repeat is this: use each official channel once, stay polite, and keep your evidence ready.
7. Tips to Stay Safe After a Review
- Never buy, download or license your own content, and do not ask friends or family to do it
- Stay away from buy-and-download groups or promotion services that create sudden bursts of downloads
- Keep your login private and sign in from your usual devices
- Do not change account details, such as country, address or payment information, without a clear reason
- Only submit content you have full rights to, and keep your source files and metadata
- Read Adobe's Contributor Agreement, especially the parts about fraud and content rights
If You Live in the EU
If you live in the European Union, you may have extra rights to a statement of reasons and to an internal complaint system for platform decisions under EU rules. These rules may not apply to you or to your account, so check the current rules and Adobe's own pages. I am not giving legal advice.
Important note
This page describes my personal experience. It is not legal advice and it is not affiliated with Adobe. Results vary and Adobe's processes can change, so always check Adobe's current guidelines and contact pages before you act.
