What You Get with Google AI Ultra (From $99.99)
Ultra is the top tier. Google lists the highest access to Gemini 4 Argon, Pro and Flash, up to 20x the usage limits of Pro, 10,000 or 25,000 Flow credits, storage starting at 20 TB, the YouTube Premium individual plan, and Project Genie, which is available only with Ultra. It also gets early access to new features such as Agent Mode.
How the Usage Limits Work
Google's page says Gemini app limits depend on how complex your prompts are, which features you use and how long your chats are. Limits reset every 5 hours until a weekly limit is reached, and you can buy AI credits to extend them. There is no fixed number of messages.
Why you can't compare by message count
Google, OpenAI and Anthropic all avoid publishing exact message numbers for the lower plans. Compare what is included and test with your own tasks.

- Student or casual user: stay on Free and see if the limits bother you
- You hit limits or need storage: Plus is the cheapest upgrade, at $4.99
- Daily work, study or content creation: Pro gives 4x the usage, the Pro models and 5 TB of storage
- Heavy professional use: consider Ultra only if you regularly run out of Pro
- Already pay for a $20 AI plan elsewhere: compare before you add another, because Pro is similar in price to Claude Pro and ChatGPT Plus

These mid-range plans cost about the same each month. Google AI Pro is $19.99. Claude Pro is $20, or $17 with annual billing. ChatGPT also has a Plus plan, and its price is widely reported at $20, so check OpenAI's page. The difference is what you get: Google bundles storage, Gmail and Docs features, and video tools, while Claude and ChatGPT focus on the assistant itself. - Your country: Google lists availability by country, and the counts on the page are not consistent. Check that your country is on the list
- Your age: Google says the AI plans are for ages 18 and over
- Personal account: Google says a plan is for a personal Google Account you manage yourself
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime, but Google says there are no refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it
- YouTube perks: YouTube Premium Lite will not activate if you already have YouTube Premium or an equivalent
